Tampa Bay cat miraculously returns from the dead and grave, dubbed Zombie Kitty (videos)

It's a story that has to be seen to be believed, and after watching the video below, you may just have faith. When looking for a logical conclusion, one will undoubtedly decide the cat was never dead. At least, that's a better explanation than believing in a real live Zombie Kitty.  But let's go back a bit, and get the facts, before we determine if this cat has miraculously returned from the dead; or was buried alive.

Bart AKA Zombie Kitty: Humane Society Tampa Bay

The tale begins on Jan. 17, 2015, Ellis Huston is Bart's owner and recieved news that Bart had been hit by a car. Huston's neighbor, Dusty Albritton, witnessed seeing Bart in a pool of blood and described the cat as stiff. She told the sad news to Bart's owner who then buried the cat by a beloved tree. The mourning period had begun. Ironically, Albritton was mourning a cat at the same time. That mourning was cut short when Bart suddenly emerged five days later.

Albritton shared much of her thoughts regarding Bart's death and reactions to Bart's (Markie's) subsequent arrival five days later on her personal Facebook page.

According to Albritton, five days later, Bart approached her meowing. She was in a state of shock and couldn't believe the cat she had seen buried was seeking food from her. She notified Bart's owner, who was also in a state of shock. After carefully observing and monitoring Bart's condition, they brought him to the Animal Health Center at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Bart has suffered a number of health conditions and will undergo surgery.

Albritton described the incident and initial shock to seeing Bart alive to Tampa Bay's Fox 13 news, "You knew it was him because his face was messed up. And he's just sitting there, looking at me purring, wanting food, but obviously, he couldn't eat. And I'm just...I'm just in shock...like...this is God's miracle. This...this doesn't happen.

Both cats where buried the same day and we went on with our lives, Hoping the cats made thier safe return to rainbow heaven,
well on 1/21/2015 I went out side to fed the stary cats , Thats when a miracle happened right in front of my eyes Markie had came up begging for food. I was in shock because i knew 5 days prior this cat was dead and buried , So i grabbed him up and took him to Mr Wayne we are all in shock ,
Mr Wayne called the ASPCA and took Markie to the docs today 1/23/2015 and was confirmed That markie had been buried [ he was not alive] when he was buried,
Come to find out Markie may have been attacked by a racoon or a pit bull that runs the neighbohood , was confirmed maggots on the brian , he will loose his eye he has a broken jaw and his cheek bone is exposed,
Markie is going to need a lot of medical assitance and bills will begin to pile up soon while the family makes sure Markie makes a full recovery.
The family is sharing thier story For the belief in God and his amazing miracles , and That thier beloved cat has came back to life after 5 days , it is an amazing Miracle , I have seen all these events with my own eyes, and have photos from day one of finding markie passed away, his grave , and his return.
The family is asking help with medical bills for the simple fact , markie has died 1 time and has came back so they will not uthinize markie, He has a big reason to be here,

The humanization of companion animals is evident in the diagnostics space; veterinary practices challenged by sustained market softness (in terms of patient visit volumes) have responded by encouraging routine check-ups and enhancing in-house diagnostic capabilities. With the significant role of in-clinic analyzers, non-infectious disease testing - led by chemistry and hematology - now represents approximately 75% of the companion animal diagnostics market.

"Recent market growth for companion animal infectious disease tests has been slight as relatively few threats exist for dogs and cats in North American and European markets," Salazar said. "Assay vendors have resorted to the standardization of infectious disease screening panels or multiplex assays to spur growth more in line with the rest of the veterinary diagnostics market."

For the food animal diagnostic market, Kalorama's report says that the majority of the food animal diagnostics market is represented by infectious disease testing. Food animal diagnostics are used in industry-led passive surveillance (testing in response to symptoms, illness and livestock loss) and active surveillance (disease screening as part of eradication and herd health efforts). Infectious disease testing is critical to mitigating overall production loss by preventing disease spread.

The recall was a result of a routine sampling program by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development resulting in a positive test for Listeria monocytogenes. The company has not received any reports of dogs experiencing nausea and diarrhea that may be associated with these specific products. The company has received no reports of human illness as a result of these products.

J.J. Fuds, Inc. will immediately start working with distributors and retailers to properly dispose of any affected product left on freezer shelves. The company will also be working with distributors and retailers to recall this product from pet owners to ensure the proper disposal of any affected product that has been purchased.

J.J.Fuds is issuing this action out of an abundance of caution and sincerely regrets any inconvenience to pet owners as a result of this announcement.

The recalled product should not be sold or fed to pets. Pet owners who have the affected product at home should return to retailer for a refund and proper disposal.
